I've owned 3 out of the 6 and many others mentioned throughout the thread, I vote GK. The Genzler was nice but it lacked the bottom that I was looking for. The GK has tight punchy lows and crisp highs that go well with my style of playing. The Genzler was no slouch but just not my taste? IMO it matches well with old school music. Currently it's the GK MBF 800 for me

Yep! Been gigging with the TH500 for a few months now. I love it. I get many compliments on the sound of my rig.

Excellent, I may need to borrow one some time and try it. I played with a few models and went with a GB Shuttle 6.2 for a couple years. Great piece of equipment but it wasn't "it." I'll be posting it on the TB classifieds with some other stuff as soon as I get around to it. :)

I voted Magellan, but its really a toss up between Subway and Magellan (I own both currently, and it's tough to decide which of them to take out, every time).
Generally view Magellan as more versatile with the 2 channels. It's the head I use for upright too, as the clean channel does it for me, but the Subway is my go-to for my rock cover band.
I've also owned the Tone Hamer and GKMBF800. They were sold to make way for these 2, and I'm not currently having any amp gas.

How would you compare the tones of the TH500 VS the Subway?

I said this on another thread and I'll say it again.

These things are nearly all amazing. I've only ever played two big name class-Ds that I disliked. The GK 800MB Fusion and the Mark Bass LMIII were my favorites (only two on the list I've never used are the Mesa and the Aggie).

I have a buddy who has let me borrow his Mesa Subway. With my P-bass, it is absolutely amazing. Deep, rich and defined. When I tried it with my Brubaker MM/J, I couldn't find the sweet spot with it as easily. Kind of turned me off to it. But it was no slouch. I probably just needed to re-approach the EQ to find my sound for a better Jazz tone.

I've heard similar things about the Aguilar TH. Like it's made for a P, but more Jish basses aren't quite the same like the P's are. Just my experience.

Well I use these and enjoy them all. However, the Tone hammer is my favourite. It's up front in the mix and just sounds awesome with Precision bass. All of these have served me well and all of them appear to be very well built.

I used to have a mark bass tube800, and played other markbass amps and cabinets. they are good, but nothing close to what i wanted to do. i think the most important questions are what cabinet are you going to play this through, and what music are you playing. And, band setup? i am playing classic rock, with loud guitars. drums are electronic, so they are really controllable. marshall half stacks aren't.
I loved the tone hammer. i loved everything about it. but, for the group I'm playing with, it didn't work. i ended up with the fusion 800. liked the d800 mesa, but didn't knock it out of the park. the fusion does. for the music, and the guys i play with. The tubes and second channel are worth the extra dough, but i could make any of them work, if I had too.
