Double Bass George Vance books

I started playing arco last year in may, but i'm mostly playing pizz (jazz)

What do you guys think of Progressive Repertoire for the Double Bass, volume 3?

I got through the largest part of volume 2 quite rapidly, but I don't know how much "harder" volume 3 is....

Volume 3 is quite a lot harder than volume 2. It contains, among other things, the recitatives from Beethoven 9 and the 1st mvt of the Dragonetti concerto. Most of my students get through vol 2 fairly quickly, but volume 3 takes quite a while.

I'll concur with Quenoil. The learning curve gets steeper in Vol. 3, but it has some challenging and fun music in it. I use all 3 volumes with my students and find the material fun for them and it gives them a good preparation for the Rabbath books proper.

It sure does look like fun

I'm now going through volume 2 again, using alternative fingerings (trying to stay in 1 position only, and avoiding open strings...)
