I make my own Sweet and Sour Spareribs at home. They're not the radioactive pink sauce with deep fried mystery meat! I also make chicken chow mein and fried rice. As we get older, not as often as I used to. It's time consuming and labor intensive in that you have to keep an eye on the ingredients when you're cooking them at a high temp.

I might make some sweet and sour this weekend...

Gave myself the day off so I can watch the latest winter storm from the comfort of home. There was already snow on the ground when I got up (nice & late ). It changed to sleet a short time later and now, freezing rain. The fresh-roasted coffee beans my brother gave me yesterday made for some delectable brew to accompany orange rolls for breakfast. I'm just hoping that the power stays on - I will get quite grumpy if not...

Can someone with OCD play in a band? All the errors would drive them nuts. Well maybe they could play in a DEVO type or a surf band.

I work with a drummer who can be like this. Drives me crazy sometimes, but he's so good I really don't want to work with anyone else. I have learned to just ignore him and do what I want. Usually he forgets what he thought he wanted by the next rehearsal, anyway.

I did an open mic with people I'd never met Wednesday night. The drummer and I listened to each other-I especially listened to his kick drum patterns-and you'da thunk we'd been playing together forever. Fun to lay down a solid foundation for the others.

There's something so rewarding about a good bass-drum combo, and it's nice when both players are aware of just how special that is. Sounds like you had a great time and I hope the two of you exchanged contact info!

I had to leave, they went back up. I'll catch him next Wodens Day or through the BL.
