Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Wool keeps you warm even when wet. Lesson learned in early school days. Nothing like a dunk in a stream of freshly melted snow to get your attention for the rest of the day. For the record, I absolutely hate dunks in icy water. (And recalling a very nice pair of suede boots that paid a price.)

When I was just a pup, we had an AMAZING sled run, about a quarter of a mile, maybe. It was thrilling, but you had to turn hard left or bail out near the end or you would end up crashing though ice into the stream at the bottom. I only dunked myself once. It was enough. I was not wearing wool or suede... ;)

We had a similar, not quite as long, run that we named The Wiggly Worm.....

It was all too easy to catch air due to the undulations, with the River Lea awaiting with a freezing cold dunking for the careless.....Great Fun!.....:hyper:

I pass by a popular toboggan hill on the weekend, both kids and dogs have a great time. The run ends on a busy road so they stack bails of hay to stop them.

Older kids hit the cross country ski trails. Then there are the trail bikes with huge fat balloon tires. A lot of bikes for commuting when the snow is gone. Bike lanes are all over. Some diehards bike all year round. Nice to see folks exercising more. The younger generation is more fitness oriented than in the recent past. More like when we were kids.

There, I said something nice about kids. I think I'm going to be sick.

Contrary to poodles being "puddle hounds", Odin takes care to avoid getting his feet wet (same as I).
Hmmmm.....Do we and our pets begin to look and act alike?.....

If so, I imagine that I'd be a farty old retriever....:D....
