It just keeps getting worse. Since bars and indoor restaurants opened covid is raising. Staff is being tested and many are turning out to be infected. Now the govt. is saying, if you went to certain places, get tested. From now on, masks are now mandatory in all public indoor places.
California closed down again yesterday.

A friend of ours just sent us some custom made masks, and there is another on the way (something musical, not sure what it is, as of yet. Maybe, it says "Give me an F......" :smug:).

My new full-time mask!

Our friend Brad went Texas to visit his mom. She’d instructed him to bring along a dozen tee shirts. Being the obedient son he is, he did.

The way he tells it, they spent quality family time together making masks, and discussing which mask would go to whom!
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sewing. Isn't that strange how many people are sewing? The place where I choose to take my healthy bean juice has a table created with a sewing machine treadle. My grandmother used a treadle machine. Kids today aren't happy unless their sewing machine can be programmed.

My doctor insists I cut back on the healthy bean juice. Make that two doctors right now who, er, strongly urge me to stop the caffeine. I view this as criminal.

As many guitars, basses and amps and A/V systems of many persuasions grace my Music Room (and I do love it!), Mrs. Dog's Sewing Room is literally awash with fabric of all shapes, sizes, colors and textures, nearly swamping her few computerized embroidering machines, while the long-arm quilting machine, and dedicated tablet PC, dominates one wall of the room.

She grew up sewing & embroidering by hand, but when we visited a shop demonstrating a computerized embroidery machine she was instantly transfixed, transformed and transmuted. I had to buy one to get her out of the store! Decades and many, many $$$s later she still spends all day long running multiple machines simultaneously producing cute fingertip towels to gorgeous king-sized quilts and everything in between.

We each appreciate and support each other's hobbies and interests. While all our children are musical, only one has made a career of Music Education. But, until recently, none of the kids, or grandkids, were at all interested in sewing. But the now 13-year-old granddaughter has a sewing friend who shares the machine MawMaw bought her and they have pieced together a couple quilt tops and, more recently, made their own skirts (as a surprise to MawMaw)!

Oh tell me about it. My older sister is a ̶q̶u̶i̶l̶t̶e̶r̶ fabric artist of no mean renown, with books to her name and company endorsements. Trade shows.

I pay to have my clothes taken in. The alterations lady and I have a good relationship.

Picked up a placemat for a dollar the day after Halloween. I measured the top of a Cab 27 and a friend sewed the placemat to size. There's some grippy drawer liner under it. Haven't decided if I want to glue the drawer liner to the mat.

Used to be Mrs. Dog offered to make covers for my amps, which I was all too grateful to accept. Then, "well, I just have a few other things to finish up first". Now I know to just order one online. Then, the whole rest of the family got into the act, "could you make me ...", "I just need a little...", "would you be abled to make ...". Now she has a stack of "charity gigs", I call them, just waiting for that 'round tuit.

She made me a "memory quilt" of a bunch of my old concert and vacation t-shirts that she proudly showed to friends and family. Now she has a stack of one son's t-shirts that's been "on the list" for similar treatment the last couple years. (I think she forgot where she put it!) Trapped by her own generosity, I tell her she's gotta charge for her time, not just the material. But, it gives her a purpose in our "golden years", so there's that.

Back in pre-covid times, Mrs. Tango was making heart-shaped pillows to give to heart surgery patients when I and my Mended Hearts cohorts would go visit them in the hospital. When all volunteer efforts at the hospitals got shut down, she switched to making masks as part of a program her employer was running (in addition to doing her regular job too!). I've gotten a few nice masks out of her efforts, including one that features logos of my beloved Washington Nationals.

You had me right up until ‘Natinals’... ;)

Today is the US Federal tax filing deadline. I wonder if anyone waits till the last minute to pay. I got one email today from a company having a tax deadline sale. Any excuse.

When paying, the later the better. When getting a refund, the sooner the better.

I see that as of 7/20, US Walmarts will require customers to wear masks. My guess is that some stores will require armed security to enforce that, given other experiences lately.
Well, that'll give some off-duty cops some extra $.
In my area(SE FL), 3 adjacent counties have made masks mandatory.
