Dairy Queen is the one that scares me. On two occasions my wife has brought me burgers from there. I tried sharing them with my cat (she doesn't cull much in the way of food) and she wouldn't eat the "meat."

I almost hate to say anything bad about BK since it(they?)and I were both born in Miami. So, as the adage goes, if I can't say anything nice.............

Last time I was there, I got a Whopper etc.. A very long time ago.

Doesn't turn me on at all, these days.

The Burger Kings that I last went to didn’t flame broil in the restaurant, they used a microwave. Maybe they do at the factory. The commercials show different. I waited in line for 10 minutes because they were busy. In that time they didn’t cook onion rings. I got what was sitting there. Within a couple of minutes, the food has always been stone cold. Last time I was there, the nugget grease tasted like pork sausages.

I thought it was just me but I can’t eat their food.

I always called the place Burger Rat. It's pretty well down there on the scale of doubtful takeout. There are lower circles in culinary hell though. Carl's Jr. comes to mind.

Sort of a White Castle wannabe.
We had a chain in FL called Royal Castle that put them both to shame. They were a fresh small burger(b4 they were called 'sliders')and breakfast 24 hour joint. When BK came in, RC changed to a "Family" restaurant w/tables and such. Originally they were a counter and take out place, maybe 1-2 2 tops. They blew it. There's 1 left in Miami, but it's Haitian owned and barely does the original menu.

Read recently of a "pirate" Burger King in Pittsburgh. The franchise owner's license lapsed and they just merrily served ... all kinds of things.

Speaking of White Castle, I spotted a closed White Castle in Elgin that was changed to Fish Castle

They sell ready made White Castle heat and serve packs at the grocery store. Proof that people will eat anything with a recognized trade name.

Breakfast for me today is asparagus. That's it, that's all, I'm having asparagus for breakfast because that's what my body needs now.

I think it's my favorite vegetable. Had it with saffron rice and fresh (caught the day before) fried large-mouth bass. YUM!

McDonalds brags that they use Atlantic Pollock in their Filet-O-Fish. This is a tasteless fish that I’ve seen would make a commercial fisherman puke. He lost a bet and had to try it.

Breakfast for me today is asparagus.

I never know how much to trim away with asparagus. The size of my steamer pot usually defines how long to leave them.
