Why should today be any different than any other?
I almost bought an inexpensive cello yesterday. It was at one of the antiques malls we like to frequent. Instead, for the same amount of money I picked up a L. & J.G. Stickley 816 arm chair from the mid 1910s! (No pics, as of yet).
With instruments, they like to insure each one separately. Does that apply to L. & J.G. Stickley 816 furniture? You can always go back for the cello in the fall.
Whenever I look at turn of the last century homes, I shudder at the thought of having to buy all the period correct furnishings from scratch.
Surprisingly, all the Stickley pieces we have were relatively inexpensive compared to a lot of modern manufactured furniture. You just got to look around a bit.Whenever I look at turn of the last century homes, I shudder at the thought of having to buy all the period correct furnishings from scratch.
Naw, it's Jammin' Jefferson.I think it's Jeff Jammerson.
There is a distinct difference between those who care and those who can't be bothered. IMHO no discussion between the two is necessary.
Period correct furnishings matching the architecture allows you to immerse yourself in living in past. On the other hand, I have simple and sparse furnishings and way too much gear. Next time I move, I’ll just take the gear.
But what an improvement!Because the second half of 2020 is just underway.![]()

Where's the rehearsal room?
Speaking of the Audient EVO. It’s a good package for an affordable $129 US. Nice for home recording in the basement.
