Do I have to be here for this? is what I asked the highly experienced and compassionate nurses at my post-op followup for the knee surgeries. If there is anything survivable that's worse than bilateral knee replacement, I don't want to be around to experience it.

They let you watch while they do your cataract surgery...thought that was kinda weird.

Around 3 inches each incision, so ...

Oh bleep yes I was awake for cataract surgery. Twice. The results are amazing, and immediate.

Sounds like an overnight stay or longer will be in order. The three month recovery time is understandable. And it leaves you with another scary story to tell.

Hold on there, adding a day to my hospital visit and a month to my recovery? Scars is scars, vitamin E or GoshIdontKnow, pretty glad all our scars aren't visible. That's a lot of scary stories.

Speaking of scars and scary tales, I just watched this documentary on Joni Mitchell that told of her own, Kinda' long but I loved every second of it. Now, ice cream time!

Flaming P-Tex met the first joint of my left ring finger a lifetime ago, and its effect still there to see. A more fanciful tale about a Linotype might be imagined, but the scar is merely a reminder to pay bleedin' attention to what I'm doing.

I woke up Monday morning thinking........ "I'm getting too old for this........" Got to work and helped a bunch of people. Made me feel better. More and more I'm enjoying long weekends. The weeks seem to last longer nowadays........ I'm thinking in 18 months I might do the Big R. Not sure yet.....

Long weekends come with some movies and good eats. You can get used to that.
