My next door neighbour was a noted modern artist, making a living selling his art. He also liked to drink. One of his media was painting his empty bottles. I couldn't believe that people would pay for things like that. Such is the art world.
The Koobas never really went anywhere despite trying.

I'd forgotten Townsend's refusal to follow Hendrix on stage. Who the sam hill could?
It's almost 2:30am AST and I can't sleep so I'm watching this terrible B movie called The Swarm with Michael Caine and Richard Widmark. I might fall asleep in a bit before getting up for work at 6:30. Nowadays it seems I can get by with less sleep.
Carey and I are getting our second Pfizer Covid-19 shot on Friday. I've heard/read that it might make us sick so I'm glad it's on a Friday. I'll have the weekend to recuperate before going back to work Monday, and Carey and I can keep an eye on each other if there are any bad reactions. I've been keeping in touch with musicians in town and everyone's jazzed that we may be able to do some shows this summer. Then I met an old friend who works for the local college. She said that the president said be prepared to continue working from home for the rest of the year. Bummer. I got a new bass and soon will have a new Gallien Krueger bass amp combo, a dream setup. All dressed up and nowhere to go!
As I'm getting older it's feeling more desirable to stay at home. Work is beginning to feel more like work and less like playtime which I've always considered it. I've been doing this for nearly 30 years and I suppose I'm beginning to consider The Big "R." Gulp. I'll miss a lot of people at my job. They're younger, attractive smart, and kind. Very professional and competent. And I get to give them very nice computers and laptops. I guess all I have to do is think of being home and having to watch the Today show and The View and that will motivate me to keep working!
On February 18 I turn 69. People at work think I'm in my mid-50's but I've never divulged my age to them. I feel like Age is the last Invisible Barrier and Prejudice in our society. It's like after you turn 60 everyone starts asking you, "When are you going to retire?" Well, our country is being run by a 68 year old right now and no one's asking him when he's going to retire!

I saw in a movie once, I think it was Steve Martin, who bought an abstract painting for an obnoxious price then hung it upside down in his living room!

Well, the price reflects the signature more than the effort to come up with the product (in my opinion).

I really like much of what is there and get a 'feeling' from even the simplest of the compositions.
There are some that look like they took their drop cloth for that day and slid a mat around on top of it until a composition was found...eh, who am I to say?

@Morrighan I went to your webpage. Very nice. Also discovered the Norstrand Acinonyx bass. Kinda excited about it as I'm a big Nordstrand fan. I emailed them asking if they're going to offer them left handed. Prolly not, but it doesn't cost anything to dream... you have nice gear too!

My Acinonyx in Lake Placid Blue is in transit. Nearest I can gather from the videos is Carey Nordstrand got his hands on a Goya Panther and did his own take on the pickups. And de-jankified the Panther .... the buttons are the same ones used for compressors since forever. The "magic" is with all four pickup buttons selected the pickups are switched from parallel to serial. And I'm digging that one of the four pickup button selectors is an Off switch. :: laugh ::
It ships with the gig bag with the cheetah print lining, along with a Nordymute. I'm totally a Nordstrand fangirl now.
Always good to let the instrument acclimatize to the room temperature for several hours before opening the shipping box. I once received an instrument during a bitterly cold period in January. I was worried about shipping at that time of year. It turned out fine, it did better than my nerves.
At this time of year especially. Waiting a whole day would not be unreasonable.
I should have already finished my morning workout and be feeding the birds, but I don't seem to be able to let go of this coffee. Someone help me...or not.
You probably just need another cup to get going.
You can incorporate hand crushing walnuts into your workout routine. That way you can combine exercise with prepping the bird chow.
