I'm loving that bass. My guess is Gibson? or Epiphone? Looks like a Gibson.

Could be either one. The video was blurry and nothing was plugged in. Could have been anything in the studio recording.
Comparing the HS to pics in the Gibson Bass Book, it appears to be Gibson.(logo in center of HS)
Today I woke up and decided to get my covid shot. The reservation for the city of millions, is made either by phone or computer. The phone line is hard to get through on, the computer system kept timing out part way through the process of answering questions. I kept trying on the computer, finally got through.
I thought that I was booking it later but mistakenly selected the current time because I’m an idiot. I couldn’t cancel the appointment online, it kept timing out. So I had to start all over again. All in all, it took an hour of frantic clicking. I was running another computer in parallel to make my wife’s appointment. That one took me an additional half an hour. Unfortunately, mine was at 2:30PM, her’s was at 6PM. The time slots filled up fast. We decided to go together and see if we could have it done at the same time. It didn’t turn out to be a problem.
I wanted it done at a hospital rather than a large facility such as a football stadium or convention center. I figured, if I was going to have a reaction, I’d rather have it there. I also thought I’d have a better chance of getting a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine with their 95% efficacies rather than a product that is less effective.
When we arrived, there was only a dozen or so people ahead of us. All very old looking people. They had the Pfizer vaccination. They took my wife at the same time since her appointment was on the same day. My two appointments were an issue, they had to cancel one and again the computer wouldn’t comply.
Didn’t feel the 0.3ml jab, no issues afterwards. Have the second shots scheduled. On the way out, there was a long line, maybe a couple of hundred folks, our timing was very good.

I started my gigging career on a single neck pick up Epiphone version of that bass. Really was a powerful sounding low end. Hard bass to start on...for me anyway.

Wouldn't call it "ergonomic"! My ES-335-shape bass sure does thump ....
What I find is it's less than intuitive to hold in a way that feels natural to players of FSOs.

Until the past year or so, I always stood to play, now I prop my keester on a stool. Never worried about ergos.

I think that the problem was that the strings were a little too fat and action near the nut was fatiguing.
The bass belonged to the guitar player who had the matching guitar. This was 1970 and that sort of thing was a plus by someone's book.
When it came to buying my own bass I went for the Hofner Beatle. The guitar player hated it. It was SO thin sounding by comparison. I had to agree. It was 'play the Epiphone or your out'. We were a trio so the added fullness was a plus.

My old business pardner at the photo lab and his wife had a house on Harbo(u)r Eye-L-And (not a part of Florid'uh). Jimmy's house was next door. He would take his small plane and go grocery shopping for his eye-l-and-er neighbors.

If it's any comfort, Glenn Miller supposedly hated it too. Until it sold a ship(sp?) load of records.
I've never had that problem, perhaps, because I also play acoustic guitar.
On the "Windy" studio track, which The Association was lip-syncing to in that video, Joe Osborn recorded the bass on his Fender Jazz with a pick as he always did after he switched from a Precision. Here's what he had to say about it:
"People ask me about this one a lot. The bass has the intro, but there’s this strange sound with it, which was Larry Knechtel doubling the line on the Wurlitzer."
I'm pretty sure Hal Blaine recorded the drums. I don't know about the guitars.

Question for my fellow GOF's. Seeing as how I'll be turning 65 this summer, I've been told I have to sign up for some kind of medicare. I'm still working but hope to retire maybe later this year. My company has great health care benefits that will continue (although somewhat costlier) after I retire. Everyone from my current health care provider (BC/BS Excellus) to whatever can be found on facebook is trying to sign me up for seminars and "helpful" classes (for a fee or the opportunity to join them) to decide what I need to sign up for. Why is this such a complicated mess? Any advice or helpful input would be appreciated.
