I have taken one selfie, and that was enough. I learned what Twain meant when he said, "A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way."
Yeah, I took a photo of mine with my phone camera, emailed that to myself, and put the original card in the Department of Vital Records (fireproof box), there to live until/unless I need to get it out to have more stuff writ thereupon by a medical-type person.
I have one of the "baby" models of Rolleiflex hanging about someplace.Which perfect moment are we referring to? When I was doing "serious" photography, I had my camera all ready, shutter release cable in twitching hand, waiting on that perfect moment.
Mine was the one in the middle.

I don't know where to set set up till that moment is gone. The lighting and subject is never the same.
You said "was in the middle". Do you still have that camera?

I find being in the right place with a camera may also mean a lot of layers of credentials. That's from a different branch of photography than the Ansel Adams ideal. Much I learned studying his photographs, and his technique, and all whut. The actual moment in the city is something else again. It doesn't feel to me a great deal different than having musical chops. Select good tools, but owning a Hasselblad does not an astronaut make.
One of the news items I read mentioned vax card pouches and sleeves showing up already on "Etsy" and similar home-made outlets. The way things have been with masks, etc., I have little doubt mass market retailers are already gearing up to churn up similar things. I expect we'll see them on shelves everywhere within the next, oh, I dunno... five minutes?

And then you have the vaccination app for your smrtphn. All apps come from trustworthy sources. 
I've had this exchange more than once with people going "bargain hunting" for photo work:
"Well, one of my brothers/co-workers/kids bought a 'nice camera' at the big box store..."
"That's fine. Did a couple of decades' worth of experience and skill come in the box with it?"
" . . . "
That's the drop-dead line for us. If some entity wants to look at the card, fine. But we don't use our phones for high-level "vital" things, and will certainly not be using them as any kind of "portal" for medical matters. Anyone demanding we do so nets an automatic GTH.

Yes, that is no surprise. Apparently it is a CDC approved card but it does not meet the credit card standard for size
. Therefore, it is an item for mass marketing companies who produce a vinyl pouch which, gets us back to what kind of vinyl product will interact with the ink on the card. Makes you wonder, donut...

That's the exact kind of important stuff. Shopping lists, anything on the computer screen that I want to take with me, wire terminals numbers and associated wire color coding...places that I can't stick me head into to see.The lady who gave me my second Covid vaccination injection took a picture (with her phone) of her vaccination record card in the event that she misplaced it. The way things are shaping up, these may fall into the category of 'important stuff'. I took yesterday off of work in case I got gnarly side-effects, but I did not. My only problem was broken sleep caused by waking myself when I rolled over onto the injection site. The soreness at the site went away more quickly than it did the first time.

This is the reticence I have with proof of vaccination. Laws that the medical sector is obliged to follow are different from laws the private sector is obliged to follow. All or none may apply as I cross a border.

I put the covid app on my phone a while ago. It is the most stupid app I ever got. They only way it works is...that the other person has to have the same app and "report" themselves. In my experience, most people hide the fact that they are infected.
