I’ve used different products. People debate over wet vs dry lubricants.

Boeshield T-9 is one that I like. Then there’s a dry graphite spray that has worked well. I’ve used a dry teflon gun lube product that I also use on my nuts.

But WD-40 does make a dry PTFE lube. Not the same as regular WD-40.

WHAT???????? on you WHAT'S?

It's for your bike chain. No other uses known.

I used it to winterize a 2-stroke outboard motor. I shut off the gas then ran it until the gas was used up in the carb. I sprayed WD40 into the carb while it was running and it just kept running. What the? The motor didn't stop until I stopped the WD40. Apparently WD40 is flammable enough to run a 2-stroke motor albeit poorly. The WD40 worked well. We took a trip to a lake several months later and the motor started on the first pull after priming.
