I was thinking of getting neon colored strings for my bass.

I was going to order white because I have a white bass that I know they would look good on, but what to do for a violet bass?

I have to agree with green. White strings might look good on the neck but would kind of get lost on the body, whereas with black, the opposite would be true…they wouldn't stand our much against a rosewood fretboard. Now, if you had a maple neck I'd definitely suggest black.
Pink would be my second choice.
Not sure if you know this, but this company has quite a few choices.
Available Aurora Bass String Colors:
Aqua
Black
Blue
Clear - NPS
Gold
Multi Colored (Random Multiple Colors)
Nitro Lime
Nitro Tangerine
Pink
Purple
Red
Silver
White
Yellow

Those who say green are still looking at the bass through guy's eyes instead of a girl's eyes. If the pearl-to-violet-to-dark sunburst bass pictured above is what the OP is getting, then pink strings would coordinate with the iridescence of the pearl. This isn't a tie-and-shirt thing, where you can throw about any tie on a white or blue shirt and navy blazer, this is a shoes-and-purse-and-dress thing. (OK - after Dad died when I was young, in addition to my uncles, my Mom, two grandmas and a plethora of aunts were always around, and I've had to listen to more of this stuff over the years than I want to admit, including having been dragged to more stores just to sit in the chair next to the dressing rooms for what seemed like at the time for hours on end when I really wanted to be out on my bike with the guys. There is one plus - it has made it much easier to purchase gifts for relatives, girlfriends and spouses over the years.)

Yellow/Gold would be the most striking as a complimentary color.

But I admit that I do not get the whole "girl" thing like Jimmy does.
Good luck with your string choice and I hope the fashion police don't seize your bass.

Not my Ritter, but it does look badass! I just wanted to show something purple with pink strings, The Daisy Rock at the bottom will be mine as soon as UPS shows up today! I hope it made it in one piece.

I don't think I'll pick green, but I did a google search on image, violet and green. Apparently nature has already thought of it.
