Getting Depressed again

Eric, I hope you feel better, man. Just keep playin your bass, and that will usually help. God has helped me many times too, but I don't know where you stand as far as that goes.

The prostate cancer is much more treatable than it was even 2 years ago, so it is not as serious, but it still does get you bummed. And don't worry about the girl, man. She'll realize how great of a guy you are sooner or later, and she'll come around. If not, she was not smart enough to begin with! :D

And I am also going to say, no pot, no alcohol. Doesn't help but to numb things. In the words of Bill Cosby(Paraphrased), Novicane doesn't kill the pain, it postpones it. Gives it time to build up little pain buddies on the side.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better!

So very true, self medicating just opens up a whole big can of worms, their alot of heath ways of dealing with stress.

Hey Eric, sorry your thread keeps getting derailed. Yeah, I have bouts with depression, and the only advice I can offer is to choose one of the following...

A) SNAP OUT OF IT ;) Do something, I mean it sucks about your dad, and it sucks about the job thing, but find something positive. A brilliant poet once said, "Always look on the bright side of life" *whistling ensues*. Since I don't really know you that well, the only thing I can offer is learn something new on the bass, but I'm sure there are other things in life, it's up to you to find them.

B) Use it. I don't know about you, but depression is very inspirational for me. I wrote some killer basslines when I was depressed, I also wrote some pretty damn good lyrics (I don't write lyrics) and they weren't all "depressed" lyrics. But I tore them up because... well, I don't know, I was a bit crazy then.

Other than that, Meds? Therapy? If these things aren't you... cool, just don't kill yourself.

Thanks guys, I am feeling a bit better now that i'm home. I thought some things over and am not so confused anymore. After a good workout, I should be much better.

And don't worry, I am not being offended by Broken Angel, it is the internet after all, I am not going to be offended over text on a screen. So don't sweat it

Your right we shouldent sweat it, i am glad you are feeling better. If you want to talk just drop me a line.

Just so you know, in point A) When I say only focus on the positive, I'm not saying DON'T get a job, and DON'T worry about your dad. Just keep plugging job applications. Submit multiple applications, then call in and ask if your application was recieved, and if they are hiring, etc. Also, if you get an interview, dress up nice.

There was a McDonalds doing a mass hiring when it opened, they were looking for people to work registers, clean up, flip burgers, etc. This one young lady dressed up really sharp, a business suit and heels and all that nice garbage. Everyone looked at her weird because everyone else there who was waiting to be interviewed were dressed in jeans/etc. Not only did the lady get a job, she got a managerial position. So next time you get interviewed, wear a business suit and heels, you'll get hired for sure. ;)

I unfortunatly can't offer any advice for your dad, best wishes. :)

matt speaks volumes. i had to interview some potential sales canidates about 3 months ago. the flux of hapless " you owe me a jobber's" was amazing. i hired a well dressed articulate older gentleman who has worked out well. dont dress the part you are interviewing for. dress for the job you DESERVE!

and about broken angel... i am far from a nOOb. i didnt like her when she was dating bigfeet, i didnt like her in the bass babes thread and i dont like her now. anybody who is that careless with someone else's emotions isnt very high on my list.major and the rest of you guys go on my scweet list!

kinda " LOOK AT ME" hard not to " LOOK AT ME" when you say stupid "LOOK AT ME" things in every thread. speaking of which have you ever been out of ot? what i love is when kids on the internet like to act superior to other people when in fact the have no other life rather than sit here and make others feel lesser than "themselves".

i kinda wonder who to feel sorry for in this thread.
