getting my first ampeg 810.

Found a deal i cannot pass up. Beat up, painted grey and two blown speakers. But it is a Ampeg none the less. I dont have the serial at the moment to give an exact dating of the cab, but i have a pic if it helps.

What all do i need to know about these( for the most part) to know i have a solid or crap cab.

I have used the search function, i know they are 2x10's sealed a piece. and they run around 800 watts.

Teach me oh wise ones.

pic related, crappy cell phone pic the guy sent me

Well you'd have to fix the blown speakers first, but once you do, you should have a very nice cab for not too much money. I recommend replacing the blown speakers with Eminence Legend B810's.

some people i have talked to say the speakers are 32 ohm. other say it could be 16 ohm. What is the standard?

There all 32ohm speakers to create a total resistance of 4ohms. For 150 I say go for it as long as its only the 2 speakers that are blown. I have an 05 810 with the lower 4 original speakers and the upper 4 eminence legend b810 speakers. It sounds aweomse

Im super pumped. I've been wanting a 810 for a while. And i figured i might as well go with the best known

I just bought one in rough condition also. I paid $250 for mine. It is missing a caster, and has a blown speaker. The tolex is pretty ripped up, but that doesn't bother me. The cab sounds awesome without the blown speaker, I can't wait to get a replacement. My cab appears to be a 2001. (I don't find that this cab sounds dark as some users have stated).

Good to know man. I cant wait to get mine,

just posting to say, something to look at on the beat cabinets is the angled piece where the wheels are bolted up at
i got an older one and that piece had delaminated where the nails went into it and was about to break away from the cab

i pulled all the nails out, took that piece out all the way and glued it back in...
