I have considered the Roll on bedliner stuff because i know if i redo all the tolex i will rip it all up again. I gig just about every weekend and i am not exactly the most graceful. But the gril i do plan on getting redone.

..brings back memories of my old 8x10 back in the 80's! I can still feel it kicking me in the chest just thinking about it. Then again, I play through a brand new one of these at my keyboard players house each week, so the memory is not so far away. And who can forget falling down the stairs with one of these back in the 80's? (Do ask for help on the stairs...) A fine cab you have and a good deal even if it is a bit of a project!

I'm in the same boat, picked one up about a year ago, on speaker with a rip, not grill and ripped tolex for 250. I was thinking about doing the same, replacing the speaker, and acquiring a grill, and covering with Duratex. I have built two fearFuls with the Duratex and I think due to its glossiness, I might order some with a grayish black tint to it to match the silver grill I want to put on it, the black might be too black.

I tried it out at the guys house and it did not sould like anything was blown. Im going to take the grill off today and really give it a one over to double check to make sure.

How cool would it be if this guy was wrong about the blown speakers? This thread just keeps getting more awesome. Welcome to the wonderful world of 810s. I'm gonna make a model Stonehenge out of them someday.

I'm hoping that the guy is wrong. Even if he is not wrong, i can get replacement speakers from ampeg dirt cheap since my buddy has a dealers license thing with them :)

I actually had the same thing when I bought my 810e. The guy said one speaker was blown. The cab sounded fine when I tried it at his house, and sounded fine for about a week at my house. Now I'm hearing a farting sound... It's time for a replacement now.

ok i got off work a bit ago and got to remove the grill to see what i was working with. I noticed half of the board was painted a diffrent color than the other(two shades of black)

Here are some picsssss

Both top right speakers look like they have already been replaced. After plugging in i found that the very bottom two were not doing anything, So i took them both out and saw they were still connected, but just not firing. One day when i have more time i will have o pull them all out and figure out exactly what is going on. But for just running 6 of them... Holy $#!^ is this thing loud. And god forbid when i get the other two working.
