Double Bass Getting scratches stained?

Is it possible? Depending on the amount of scratching of course, how much does a touch up cost?

Of course you can have your bass' finish touched up. Cost depends on the amount of work needed and your luthier's rate. I spent almost $800 for a major touch-up over finish, on a bass in terrible finish shape. The work was done by one of the best and pricier luthiers in town. A few scratches shouldn't cost much at all.

My luthier touches up minor scratches as part of the yearly checkup I get.

I'm assuming these are the kinds of scratches that need professional attention. FWIW, for small, minor scratches, bleeding the tip of a brown sharpie or furniture marker into a soft cloth and then immediately rubbing the cloth on the scratch can work wonders.

I bought a small can of stain to touch up small scratches though I'm really not anal about that. I actually like my bass to look well loved.

Used the Sharpie on mine for a small scratch and you have to look at the right angle in the light to see it now
