Double Bass GEWA bass

Did you see one somewhere?
Would be simpler to provide a link so we can look at it.
That said, I think GEWA is importing instruments, and do a setup, that’s it.
Basic line are probably made in China.
Setup is the most important thing IMO.
Don’t know if GEWA is doing a nice setup on their cheap line.

I have a 'Concerto' model (it's from their old model lineup)
It's all solid wood.
As far as build goes it's decent, perhaps over built, a bit heavy. Nice looking wood.
Sound wise its passable, not great, probably because of over build.
It would say if you have an opportunity to try a few you might find a decent one
But that goes for any lower priced basses

The Gewa higher end brands include Michael Glass and Rubner. The lowest priced instruments might be Chinese, but the bulk of them are Romanian/Hungarian and some shop Germans (probably Wilfer):
