GHS Infinity Steels?

I'd been searching for a set of coated stainless steel strings and only came across Elixirs and Warwick EMPs. I heard bad reviews about the Warwicks, so used the Elixirs. They're great and have lasted 6 months but are now dulling tonewise. I love balanced strings, and just remembered I saw these a while back. If they're bright (close to uncoated stainless), they're a dream come true. Shame they're limited edition though. Anyone have experience with them?

6 months is pretty darn good for a set of strings, what don't you like about the Elixirs? They are very bright.

Yeah I don't think they make the Infinity Steels any longer. DR Dragon Skins are a great coated stainless steel string you might want to check out.

I just got a set of these. I think they are what you are looking for maybe.

It's very good for a set of strings. I played the bass everyday for a few hours at least. I got a bit lax with wiping them down and they're now just starting to sound a bit broken in.

I don't not like Elixirs. They're amazing. I love balanced tension strings and people say Elixirs are like a very bright nickel, so was wondering if Infinity Steels are closer to an uncoated stainless string.

They're still in stock in certain places, I've saw. I heard DR ones can sound a bit muddled. Is that you're experience?

Heck for $5 a set, you better stock up on those GHS's! @Jon Moody can give some ideas on how bright they are.

I didn't find the Dragon Skins to be muddled, but I wasn't looking for them to sound like steels either. They are a nice full sounding string.

American store ): I'm in the UK. However, that must be an error. @Jon Moody is that an error on your store? If not, I wish the price was the same over here. You'd mysteriously notice a customer purchasing 10 packs. That customer would be me (:

No, that price is right. Since they no longer make them, they are blowing out leftover sets on clearance.

It's about $33. GHS only ships within the USA, but who knows...get in touch with them and see if they will ship overseas if you buy enough sets. They also have some Infinity Steels wound on round cores for $7 a set.

I didn't get a chance yet. I may put them on a Ric 4003:D

It's correct; our online store only ships to the US and Canada.

Infinity Steels are slightly darker in tone than our Super Steels. Like nearly all other coated strings (Elixer being the exception), we get the wire coated FIRST, and then use that to wind the string. That helps retain brightness, but is still somewhat susceptible to oil and dirt from your hands.

Fair enough. You need to tell our UK distributors to lower the price :roflmao: why are they limited edition. I think they'd be a perfect addition to the line.

We had them before, years ago, and they just didn't sell. Based on some feedback, I tweaked the design and tapered the E and B strings to see if the demand would be enough to take them from "Limited Edition" to roll them back into regular production. And again, they didn't really sell.

I know Jon. Only kidding.

It's a shame they aren't selling. They seem perfect for what I want. Balanced tension and coated...and steel. Couldn't they be put into a kind of production where only selected dealers sell them? There's a place over here which is purely bass related, and they sell all sorts of rare strings and basses. I don't know how finance works, and how your company's profit/loss margin is with these strings, but I'm just thinking if there's less produced due to only certain dealers selling them, then it might be better off and those places may sell more packs. I don't know...I'm probably talking rubbish in the sense of marketing :roflmao:
