Indeed i am. Ithink if i were ceo at gibson or someone high power: i'd make the necks two piece rather than one, double action truss rod. & give more options for less. I'd revamp Gibson pretty much

I think he's speaking more about new models (or updated versions) in 2016. there are no basses listed in 2016 as opposed to all the guitars in 2016 that are going to be produced
Yeah, there are no 2016 basses out, but they already have 2016 models of Firebird, V, and Explorer.
Another tip-off is the absence of any Gibson basses in the Musician's Friend holiday catalogue. There is an Epi T-Bird, but no Gibsons.
Good thing you can still buy this for $499. Comes in the Vintage Burst, too, but a few more colors might be nice, red, black, etc.
