Just bought this 2007 Les Paul off Reverb. Info about it seems to be extremely limited. Obviously looks like a flat top with t bird pickups in (maybe) the t bird locations (different from what I’ve seen on most Les Paul basses). I’ve only been able to find one identical one in an older sale post here. Anybody know where I can find out some more details?

I think this is a LPB-1 Les Paul Special Bass. It was rather made in the 90ies and the bridge is not original.

Yeah that appears to be the model but it looks like there has been a few variations over the years. I believe some had active preamps (mine doesn't) and the pickups have been in different places.

It seems like there was a model in the 2000's that had either a matte or raw-ish finish or something similar, but was only around for a year or so. I will dig out my Gibson Bass Book and see if I can find more details.

It's not listed in the Gibson Bass Book. At least not the edition that I own. I was able to find this link to when they were available on Musicians Friend back in the day.

Pulled out my '71 Les Paul Triumph - it just seemed like the right bass for the job...



Playing it through my trusty CAE/CAJ V-Comp tube compressor just barely hitting, into Tech21 Geddy Lee MP40 SansAmp. Dunlop Tortex 1.0 mm pick. More to come!

Anybody here own a Money bass or Les paul dc? I got one without a bridge and I need to find one with compatible string spacing. But first, what is that spacing?

I previously owned one with a Hipshot A which has adjustable string spacing and similar look to the original. It intonated fine but left a visible crease in the front due to its slightly shorter length. I imagine an original is basically unobtanium.

Tried with a hipshot with 19mm spacing. Was too wide, even with adjustable saddles. I think the original was an abm, but they have since stopped making that specific bridge…

I think mine was 19mm also, but I’m not sure. Might have to special-order one.

Took a tape measure to mine. Between e and a was closer to 3/4 but a little under that between all others. I'd say closer to 17 or 18mm.

No sweat. These look like the bridge. Still available according to what I found here and yes I measured overall spacing at 2-1/8".

Quick question for Gibson Afficianados... I have been looking to purchase a Gibson ES-335 bass. I was pretty much set on the Vintage sunburst but then happened upon an ebony for sale that has white binding.. owner and paperwork says it is original factory. I have never seen the ebony with binding. (Only the ebony midtowns that I have seen have binding) Anyone have an insight ? Could it be a one-off ?
