This is my Gibson SG restoration project.

Here is my 71 SB400. 34" scale alder body, maple neck. Active EMG j-bass pickups with no preamp. Pots are VVT like a J- bass.
Old schaller bridge branded kramer and grover tuners.

This thing is a savage, with tone for days.

Just picked up this fixer-upper from a craigslist ad, for 700 bones! It had a custom made mirror pickguard which was in terrible condition, someone put a badass bridge on it and crudely filled in the post holes, and wired a couple of extra switches into the wiring harness. One to switch the circuit board in and out (pickups > vol. > jack), as for the other one I couldn't figure out exactly what it does. Otherwise it's solid, no breaks, just honest playwear and some of those tiny, horizontally rippling cracks in the finish.

I'm gonna do what I can to get her back into original condition (minus paint wear - i like the instrument to show its age). Shouldn't be too hard, but might be expensive. It's also practically fretless so I'm going to have to save up for a re-fret and a new nut sometime soon.

I don't remember if I put up pictures of my EB-2DC before or not. Here it is. I have a different case with more room for the head now, so you purists with sharp eyes can relax. I got it in the early 1980s and probably won't ever let it go.

mg.audio, please post some pictures of it when it's ready. It would be wonderful to see all steps of the process photoed.

Full photo documentation. Ask and you shall receive. It might be a while for the process to start, with money being super tight and everything. I can barely justify myself with owning two RD Artists right now, but I don't care! :bassist:
