Cool, but I would have made it shaped like an axe with blood splattered all over it, with a flamethrower attached to the headstock.
I have never understood the appeal of Kiss.
That said, my stepfather was going through my mother's things after she died and sent me this...maybe I liked them as a child? I doubt it.

The bass looks real cool, but not $7K cool. That price is just insane. Gibson will likely make them for a short time, then discontinue them, and the the price will only increase. I'm suppose KISS collectors will snatch most of them up them up. Gene was (and might still be) selling through his website, stage used and autographed Punisher or Axe basses back stage for about $10K each. I remember hearing his former bass tech saying fans bought one at almost every show. Incredible.
Plus, wasn't his short scale bass made for him by Charlie Lobue? IDK for sure.

Gibson states in its press release that the pickup is a faithful reproduction of the original. I haven't put on on a meter but for now I'll take this at face value.Lighten up Francis...

In the specifications they write that the pickup is a Rhythm SG Bass.
Much as I like some Gibson basses (I own four) I can't get my head around that $6500 price tag. I suspect that me not being a Gene Simmons fan and not into signature models (or driven by nostalgia despite my years) also has something to do with it.

Yep. And the video demo at the top of the thread also specifically calls it a mudbucker.

Maybe i got them mixed up. I thought it was a Ripper. It looks like a Grabber upon closer inspection. I still want Gibson to bring back Rippers

I know they brought them back in 2009 or something. Just not long enough for me to get one
