Why not just offer up a USA model just like that without Gene's name attached to it? Betcha'd sell waaay more...

I have one of the recent GS Thunderbird gibsons, and it’s amazing. It plays great, is light believe it or not, and is super balanced, sounds like a fluke etc. But man it’s great.
But there’s no way I’d get this new one for more than twice the money. The new one is a $1500 instrument with a $5000 profit for gene tax added.

Would have been a nice bass for Epiphone to release.
Not a fan of Gene as a human, and wouldn't want a bass with his name on it. Especially at $7k.

That's an EB1 and Gibson first made them in 1953. Little Richard's bass player used one.
They were solid mahogany and they came with an end pole (chrome mic stand stock) so that you could play it vertically if you wanted to. It was Gibson's answer to the Fender Precision of 1951.

Yep, that was the bass that got me into playing and I couldn't afford one of those either. So, for old time sake, I bought one of these as a wall-hanger was was surprised how good it sounds...
Hard pass for me! I don't like the tone (it's weird seeing and hearing a mudbucker in the bridge position). Plus, I would rather have $6,500 in my Roth IRA working for me through the rules of compound interest.
