Not sure if it's been asked, but what are the necks like on these? Are they closer to P-bass or J-bass necks? I'm just wondering because I'm considering getting one...
My G3 is more like my p-bass than my jazz, but definitely not a like a C neck p-bass, more in the realm of a B, but possibly flatter front to back.

It was black (factory)....then natural.....then natural with woodburns (not by me), then this....

Here is my old '75 Grabber, which I foolishly sold around '85. 4 years ago I finally replaced it with an Epiphone Ripper, '99 vintage. It's every bit as good a bass as the Grabber was...

Considering painting it white.
I'd like to trade my Jaguar bass for a G3 at some point, hopefully. I just love the Grabber, and would like to see how some singles sound. Glad to see so many others are as into them.

Well, I play bass in a band, and I have a Grabber... so...
Is that a factory original finish, or your custom?
My G3 lost it's neck (a convoluted story) and now has a schecter replacement. The body was black at birth - but I wanted a new look and the finish was trashed so I had it painted white.
When I first recived my Fretless Ripper bass,
it come with its original case... But the case was
completly broken...
It took me two years to find an affrodable 1978 Gibson Rippers Bass case...
It's my Christmas present to myself.

I love these basses and have been obsessing over them for about 10 years now. Welp, I guess I'd better get to joining this here club!

My 75 G-3 languished in a case for 20 years. I bought it in 79-80. I being a stupid kid, butchered the pickguard and put in two Dimarzio J pups and a BC Rich brass bridge since the orig bridge saddle height screws were screwed. I recently decided to get him back up n running and found I had lost a pup. Found a NOS on ebay. Ordered a pickguard, found a through body bridge, wired it stock except for the pots, lost them so it has 2 250k's in it but I still had the orig cap.The tone is killer and I had forgotten that.
No plans for refinish, too many dents, dings and chew marks. He's a rat rod.

I've recently become obsessed with Krist Novoselic's tone live, and Mike Dirnt's tone on dookie. I think its time to get a grabber or G3. What do they go for?
