The 2 coils are connected together in series so are used as 1 coil. The total inductance is ~ 1.5 Henries... I just measured the coils from my Ripper that is in pieces with a dead pickup.
Thanks for that info.One of the two coils in my Ripper's bridge pickup was dead. Tom Brantley rewound the pickup for me last summer and did a great job. It was $92 including shipping and took a couple of weeks. It sounds great!

There is also the pre-made Q-filter unit available from Wilde Pickups. The guitar version is 1.8 mH and the bass version is 3.0 mH. That unit includes both capacitor and inductor in one unit. I have these in my other two passive basses, while my Ripper still has the original Q-filter components.
