Gift ideas for a bassist?

The key is to get him something that he would NOT buy for himself. Since she's obviously looking to band related stuff, how about on of those stomp lights? I'd think a regular gift would be well appreciated unless she knows what he might want that's bass specific.

Agreed, I research heavily before buying anything for a hobby or particular interest and am more than a little fussy about what I get. People in my life who are aware of those things will occasionally gift towards those hobbies, which is very sweet but it’s almost always the wrong things. Normal gift is better!

If he’s above a certain age (which varies from person to person) I’d say Ibuprofen and arch supports.
If he’s younger, I’d say yeah, a gift certificate.

NUX Mighty Plug Pro is pretty useful for headphone practice. Bluetooth in and it plugs in the bass so it's almost cable-free except for the headphones you listen with.

My wife bought me some pickguards for a couple of basses and her eye is much better than mine. I really loved them and it's nice to play something that was a gift from her.

Nice strap is always a good call. At that price, you should be able to personalize something as well.

If he's a gigging player, a nice fan. I like the Lasko blowers is a pretty nice thing too.
