Double Bass Gig bag for Carruthers SUB-1 EUB

After 25+ years, it’s about time I purchased a new bag for my trusty SUB-1. Trouble is…Carruthers stopped making them a long time ago.

I’d appreciate any leads from the board on a replacement bag. The EUB stands 58” with the end pin removed and the body is 6” at its widest. Thanks!

I used a Dakine Snowboard bag for the DIY EUB that my stepdad made for me years ago. The bass has since fallen apart, but the bag is back to its intended purpose.

The interior of mine disintegrated so I cleaned it up leaving just the Cordura. I then took it to a luggage repair and had them reverse the zipper.

For a new bag, you can try Messina Covers. They make great double bass bags and can make a custom EUB bag.

I used a Dakine Snowboard bag for the DIY EUB that my stepdad made for me years ago. The bass has since fallen apart, but the bag is back to its intended purpose.

I bought an SUB-1 in March, 2020 (just as the manure was hitting the fan). It came in an amazingly cool road case but I wanted a bag.

Used Burton snowboard bag from EBay with an old quilt inside was just the trick.

Here's the road box. A former owner was a touring bassist, back when there were tours and players to play them:

Thanks to everyone for their counsel. After reviewing these and other recommendations, I decided to engage a seamstress to repair the bag’s interior, material and padding. The bag served me well for 25 years - here’s to another quarter century of service.

P.S. I presume that once this seamstress repairs my bag, she likely will be in the market to fix others. Let me know if you’re interested - I’d love to throw her the work.
