Gig bag of good Quality

Question to Anyone that owns a Lakland 55-02; What Gig bag did you buy for it? I recently found out that a brand new 55-02 Bass comes without a case or gig bag, I find that to be absurd but ...

Yeah, my 55-02D did not come with a case of any sort. I just use one of the many gigbags I own, depending on A) whether I need to carry 1 or 2 basses to the gig, and B) which ones are empty when it's time to grab the Lakland and go.

My choices include:
- Mono M80 Dual
- Protec Contego
- a modified Ken Smith (tons of very thick medium-density urethane padding added after the fact)
- some no-name generic that doesn't offer nearly as much protection as ^^^those, but that is still too nice for me to chuck it into the trash

Check out the Gator Cases gig bags. I, and a number of players I know, use them and we've all been happy. Never had any issues protecting my basses traveling to/from shows.

Not with a Lakland, but Reunion Blues is my choice.

Manufacturers try to keep the out the door price low. The assumption may be that anyone advanced to need an upscale bass probably has a gig bag or something to carry the bass. I've bought several upscale trumpets that came without a case, or a case was an add on choice.

I'm a big fan of the Gruvgear Gigblade (I have a Silver), because I usually just carry over one shoulder, but it's really going to depend on how you use the bag. If you're just carrying a block from car to gig, then I feel like the gigblade is a great option. If you tend to use the backpack straps and carry for longer distances, then something more traditional may work better for you
