Gig bags for JMJ Mustang

I use a Gator Pro-Go double bag, because my JMJ gig bag is too flimsy (sorry) and the gig bag that came with my Sandberg Lionel is much too long. Both short scale basses fit nicely in the Pro-Go double bag. One downside: the loaded double bag not very light weight and kinda bulky.

In the "official" thread for your signature mustang, you stated that you made this instrument for players that perform and record music, rather than collectors etc. I have to say that you and Fender knocked it out of the park with this bass. However, as someone who has his bass with him almost daily, the stock fender bag does not cut it for pro and semi-pro work IMHO. That's ok, even without the bag we are getting A LOT of bass for a very reasonable price. Thanks for the recommendation on the Serek bag. I can also attest that the Gator Pro Go (without the bottom pad) is a great fit and very high quality. The Gator GB-4G Jazzmaster gigbag is also a fit. Decent bag for under $80.

The first two pics are the cheaper Gator GB-4G Jazzmaster model. I just want to reiterate that the standard electric guitar version will not fit… It has to be the jazzmaster bag on this model. The last pic is my bass in the Gator pro-go electric guitar bag. Hope this helps some folks. Thanks again for the great bass Justin, and also for all your input on the forum.

I bought the Fender bag, it fit, and was very inexpensive, but a bit floppy and personal dealbreaker was no padding at the butt end. If you stand the bass upright in the bag, just zipper between the bass and the floor.

Grabbed the Gator G4 Jazzmaster bag, and it's a great fit for my Squier Mustang. The bag will stand up on its own, and there is extra padding at the butt end, and better padding all around than the Fender bag. Also cheaper than (but on par with) my Access bags.

Mono Vertigo guitar bag. Fits. It helps that my G string tuner is in tune when it's at about 90 degrees. Would still work at most other angles I think. Great straps. Good storage but still sleek(ish). Love the rubber bottom. This could be in a deep puddle of wine/beer/whiskey and fare quite well.

I just received a grey mono guitar sleeve. My JMJ fits well in it. The first one I tried in-store was about a mm or two too short. I assume some very tiny variation in tolerances between the reliced bass and bag manufacture could cause this. Either way I am very happy I can fit the shorty in a small high quality bag!

I know there are some reasonably priced ggbag options, however they seem to be very thinly padded. I am shocked at the prices of thicker, more substantial bags.

The Fender bag looks too thinly padded and their short scale hard case is silly expensive

Y'all might want to consider Reverend's new Wattplower soft cases. They're meant for baritone guitars and short scale basses. Cheaper than the Pro Go but almost as much padding - can say from experience with each.
