Bass through foldback wedges stinks...pretty sure we can all agree on that. Yet, it get you through, so, that counts. Wouldn't be the first time any of us had to grin and bear it. Take one for the team so to speak.

If it's a 15 it can actually be ok, more because of the larger enclosure than the speaker. We're running 12" monitors these days, and while they're great for vocals the lows are a bit lacking.

"OK" is a relative term I guess??

Yeah they're better than the tiny ones. A sharp stick in the eye is also better than 2 sharp sticks in the eye.

I always take a DI for a back up because there is always a PA. It won't sound as great on stage. But having not had an amp crap out on me in 20+ years playing I am sure I can go a night with crap fold back.

I've got a Markbass that I always bring as a backup.

Always carry my MB200 as a back-up. It fits in a binocular case and has been used as a monitor amp in a pinch. biggest problem is almost always leaving it behind its so small.
