Given my current Genzler set up, which second cabinet would you choose?

I currently use a Genzler MG800 with the Bass Array 12-3 slant for playing at church (with FOH support) and with a big band (with NO FOH support). I want to add a second cabinet to the rig for the bigger places (and playing outside with no FOH support) to get the max out of the amp and also not depend on some FOH in sketchy places. I also use the MG350 for home use practice with the 12-3 cabinet.
My choices are:
1. Purchase another Genzler Bass Array 12-3 to match what i have. MG800 with (2) 12-3 bass arrays.
2. Purchase a local Bergantino NXT 12 at good price (like new). The guy selling the Berg stuff has both 12's NXT and ENXT along with a REF 210 for sale.

I typically use just one cabinet most of the time so either new or old cab would work 90% of the time. For the off occasion I need both cabinets is where the second cabinet would be needed. So I don't think it's that critical that they have to "match"?

Thoughts? Ideas? I'm open to suggestions. I'm older and don't want anything back breaking to carry. The 12" speaker seems like the sweet spot for blues, rock and big band jazz.

Genzler makes a straight and a slanted version of the BA112-3. If you have one, get the other.

AFAIK you can mix any combination of BA112SLT and BA112STR cabs. I prefer to hear the natural full range of the cabs up close, so two STR cabs would probably be the worst combination for. Not sure if mixing an SLT and an STR or going with a pair of SLTs would be best. If possible do a demo and choose whichever you like best.

A pair of BA112s with an MG800 should be a very potent rig.

I can chime in and just point out that if you did want to consider using 2 of our Bass Array 12" models, I would recommend having one of each, the SLANT and STRAIGHT version. The addition of having both versions offers more flexiblity in how you stack them and that will have an impact in how you can hear and feel the stack in various venues. For me, I always prefer stacking a SLANT cab under the STRAIGHT so that both baffles align in the same slanted plane, which (to me) adds more of an immediacy to the feel of the cabs. Certainly on different stages and perormance/band settings this could change, but having one of each does offer that flexibility.

I would do what Jeff said

If interest in Berg cab is good deal it may be fine if you are only going to need it rarely get NXT with tweeter if can turn off when using with BA and can set up Berg with MG 350 at home and keep your main rig separate

Bergantino makes excellent cabs but Genzler you have is Great

Best setup/match would be as Jeff suggested or sell BA and buy both

I would get another BA12 and likely a slant version. I use two of these for 99% of my gigs. At one point, I bought a BA15 slant, but the truth is that I don’t really need it even for outdoor shows, so it sits in storage most of the time. It’s nice to have the big stack with all three cabinets, but not really needed.

I adore my Genzler 12-3 cab. I would definitely just get a second one if I was you.

I had a Berg 112 (don't remember exact model), and it was a great cab, but the Genzler is more even and detailed sounding.

slant cab on the bottom, so slant underneath and the straight above it create a continuous flat wall that's tilted back

I had a pair of these for 3 years when I was gigging regularly. We played LOUD rock both with and without FOH support. Drummer was always impressed that, due to the dispersion of an array, he could hear the bass no matter where on stage the bass rig was placed. Identical bass cabs couple well together, so yes, to echo what others have said, a 2nd identical except for one slant one not.
