GK 1001RB-II question

So I have a GK 1001RB-II amp. I'm using it to bi-amp a GK NEO-212 cab. It's an 8 ohm cab.

So here's the question, sometimes I need a little extra volume, and I have a GK 410BLX cab in 8 ohm. Is it ok to use the amp to bi-amp the NEO cab with the speakon cable and use the BLX in fullrange with a normal jack cable at the same time?

There is no speakon input on the BLX, and I don't want to buy a new cab just for the few times I will need the extra volume.

Looking at the block diagram in the manual, it looks like the 'low' signal is actually the full range signal. You may actually have to turn your tweeter amp down.

I had initially thought it wouldn't work, now I'm thinking it would, but I would definitely call GK customer service.

I sent a mail to tech support at GK. better safe than sorry.;)

The proper way to "bi-amp" with the HMS system is this. Engage the woofer hi-cut switch, which removes 5K and above out of the main amp (woofer). Then if you have one of their corresponding cabs set to bi-amp, and are using the four conductor Speakon cable, the signal will be split at 5K from woofer to tweeter.
Now, if you plug another 8Ohm cab in the woofer out, it will receive the full signal minus the 5K (and up). You probably won't even notice it because 5K is extremely high for any bass guitar content.

I have the same setup and found these 2 cabs don't really play well together. The 410Blx is left over from my original GK rig from many moons ago and on it's own can sound ok but not great. Each cab takes somewhat different EQs for me and running the middle ground leaves both sounding a bit short. I've found more volume but less than happy tone. YMMV

Yes, daisychain the 1/4 inch jack from the 212 to the 410, it will be fine. Cheers.

AHHH!! There is the info I was looking for. Looks like a second GKNEO2x12 is in my future.

Yes, as others stated above you can run them together through several methods but might not be happy with what it gives you. For me, EQ'ing the Neo212 perfect then plugging in the blx has it booming and muddy, if I brighten it up the 212 is a little harsh.

I came across a good deal on a GK neo112 which mates nicely with it's big brother. Only rated at 300watts and will get 350 when running both cabs so wouldn't reccomend it if you plan on getting stupid loud. I'm sure the dual neo212 setup is killer.
