GK 1001RB with SansAmp RBI

Trying to figure out which way is the right way.

If i want to use my GK 1001RB as a power amp, do i send the signal from the SansAmp RBI to the GK's effects return? Will this bypass the voicing filter and active equalization of the GK? which is what i am trying to accomplish.

Yes it will. Then the boost, treble, and woofer knobs will serve as your volume. Plug your bass into the input of the rbi then from send of the rbi to the return of the 1001rb. You will lose the mute function of the amp though just so you know.

Just wanted to make sure before i do anything. I know i will lose the mute but i have a mute on my rackmount Korg tuner. So that will work.

Yes you have it right I have done exactly that with a VTbass pedal. The Boost still works so you can get a combination of GK grind and Sansamp warmth.

I run my RBI and RPM thru my send and return in my setup. Ive tried running them directly into my heads power section and wasnt pleased with the results. Have you tried running it that way before?

No. I didn't think that would be the right way of sending the signal. You would have too much settings to contend with and it would probably sound extremely raw.
