Not to me - I've seen an awful lot of those with blown drivers over the years... I would definitely take a Goliath Sr over the Henry 8x8...

Not to me - I've seen an awful lot of those with blown drivers over the years... I would definitely take a Goliath Sr over the Henry 8x8...

I have both the 8x8 and the Goliath Sr. (6x10). Two very different cabs, and I use them for different applications. The 8x8 (I have a pre-Fender, with Celestions) is warm while still articulate and punchy as hell. Handles low B's nicely -- I use it when I play with a swing/jazz/pop 9-piece band, and it's just a wonderful cab. I'll often use the Goliath Sr. with some of my other bands -- it has the classic SWR sound (which I love), athough it doesn't reproduce lows quite as well as the 8x8 (but still a GREAT cab). The Sr. is ridiculously efficient @ 110db, so it's quite loud by comparison to many cabs out there. By way of full disclosure, I'm sort of an SWR freak, as I also have eight other SWR cabs that I mix and match, depending on the gig (Goliath III's, Big Bens, a Big Bertha, Son of Bertha, and a Triad ... yes, I have issues ... I don't want to talk about it ...) and various SWR heads. Bottom line, though, is that the Sr. and 8x8 are two different animals, but both seriously solid and articulate cabs.
