GK 700RB with Tech 21 VT Bass Questions

Would anyone mind explaining the benefits of running my Tech 21 VT Bass in the effects loop of my GK head versus into the input along with the rest of my effects please?

Not quite asking which sounds best so we can avoid some of the subjective side of this. I'm just not clear how the loop works technically on the RB 700 and what advantages (if any) of putting the pedal in the loop.

Personally, I've tried both and nearly given up on the pedal, but recently tried it in the loop with my band and dialed in a cool tone. Just looking to understand.

Thank you. Happy & Healthy everyone!

I've been doing similar experiments running an RBI into my v1 400RB. Not sure if the 700 is wired the same as the 400 but I think I read somewhere that bypassing the preamp via the effects loop doesn't bypass the boost/master volume section, so the tones I've achieved have been negligible at best. Getting good results running the RBI straight into the amp's input, with the amp EQ set mostly flat (which is where it seems to shine anyhow!)
Slamming the Sansamp tone into the GK is kind of dreamy. Wished I'd picked up both of these sweet pieces of kit earlier.

To put it simply you have discovered the magic of experimentation. By using the tone from the VT bass and powering that with the GK rails you have a tone that a lot of folks like. Simple, reliable and loud. By using the insert you have bypassed the GK preamp section, while very fine is not for everyone.
