Month number seven is about to go by of owning this fantastic bass head and it still surprises me. It sounds remarkably similar to my older brothers more expensive GK and he even admits that he wished he'd known about the Backline before buying his first halfstack. This thing has all of the crisp, punch, clarity, and grit of the more expensive models and has held up as a quality workhorse after seven months of extensive use. I'll mirror what others have said, this thing is LOUD, through my GK 410rbh4 it is pretty crazy, more than enough for any gigs I'm playing, but guys, whenever I plug it into my brother's mesa cabs, I about shat. The cooling fan is pretty quiet and this amp needs to be getting pushed pretty hard before it even needs it.
Many reviews of this amp voice that the distortion channel is pretty lackluster, but I must disagree. With a bit of tinkering it will retain all of the lows and clarity of the clean channel and is far more impressive than many of the budget priced bass distortion pedals if you are going for a straight up distortion tone in my opinion. That being said, I do really wish the distortion channel had its own treble, mids, and bass controls, then I'd probably use it a lot more, other than that it is a truly stellar amp for the price!
