GK cab ampeg head

I'm pretty new to bass cabs and heads, until a couple weeks ago I only had a combo amp. I just bought a Gallien Krueger 410 sbx plus and am looking into heads. One of my friends is selling his ampeg b2r head and I'm wondering if that will be a good combo. Any feedback on the topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I run an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro into a GK Neo 410. Absolutely magical combination. I imagine your buddies Ampeg will sound nice through your cab.

I absolutely loved my B2R. I could get great tone out of it. Not a powerhouse, but if you can get a good deal I'd say do it.

I use to have a B2R. Ran great with a Ampeg CL 1x15.

I would just be careful with the 9 band EQ section. It can be really fun finding different sounds, but bumping up 40hz can get the speaker/s moving

I don't run ampeg, but I'm using ashdown with my gk neo 412, so in a nutshell, yea gk cabs take other amp brands well. Haven't tried the sbx though, it's all about voicing pairing.

I can get the head for 200 bucks which is the same price that guitar center is selling for
