GK Cabs for Gallien-Krueger MB200

Yeah, loud is all relative and church can get toward the louder end of not facemeltingly loud. If one cab is a priority make it the 212. If two cabs is ok then start with 210 and add another if one isn't doing it.

My little 210 rocks out with small band at functions and it's still loud enough that they can't converse without going to the back. I don't think you should need any more than that for church but refer paragraph 1.

In that case I might go for the MB500, just because, and the 212. Just don't blow up the 212 if it turns out your church wants its ears ringing and bowels rumbled. Then get another 212.

But nothing wrong with mb200 and the 212 8 ohm cab in all likelihood.

what about the mb200 hook up with the GK BLX 115?

I daisy chain my Neo112's all the time. They have SpeakOn and 1/4" inputs/outputs.

Ah ok, I was unaware they worked as outputs as well. I thought only inputs.

Nobody has much to say about that cab, least of all me.

In general you are better off with a 210 vertical orientation it spreads tone much more widely than a 115. 210's tend to be easier to transport as well, for similar output.

Read some reviews. I'm not sure a GK cab is your best bet as I don't know where you live or what else is available. I don't think I have played a GK cab for twenty years.

I tell a lie. I had a jam on a RBX 410. Same problem as all 410. Can't hear the shager unless way out in front of it because mid tones beam with horizontal arrangements.

No. Go with the better cab. Neo210. If not available, I suggest the Neo212 or 2 Neo112's.

Hi everyone this is my first post on this forum and I'm so glad for talk with many people around the world who plays the bass, I'm looking for my second one bass amp, and I want to build my perfect rig (head and cabinet) I'm in love of Gallien-Krueger and I'm thinking about to get the MB200 who has 200 Watts with a 4 ohms cabinet and it's perfect to me because I wanna practice in my house and I wanna play in my church but I haven't find a GK cabinet to hook up with the MB200, so I mean, I wanna GK cabinet (4 Ohms), what model of GK cabinet would you recommend me? Thanks a bunch!

I have an MB200. I use Bag End cabs with it. One or two S10 cabs, or the S12 and/or S15. The Bag Ends are quite loud with little input power. Sounds great to me. You won't ever regret getting one or two Bag End cabs.

No. Go with the better cab. Neo210. If not available, I suggest the Neo212 or 2 Neo112's.

I'm not shy, GC Brownsville has not many variety of cabs or heads as many other places :/ so I want to hear another suggestions or experiences about people who has played with GK

Buy what sounds good to you. My advice is to avoid the old backline series and go for the new pro stuff....in this case the Neos. I would especially steer clear of that Gold Line stuff - they never quite nailed the Hartke vibe and their durability was not all that good for anyone I know who own a cab with those drivers.

It's rated 100 watts at 8ohm so it fits nicely with the MB-200

Now I've only been using it to play in my bedroom so I have NO idea how it will fare being pushed a little bit (the rehearsal studio always provide the 4x10 or 8x10 ampeg stack around my place).

For a calm / accoustic or jazz gig it would be probably be largely enough with a PA support (it would definetly NOT work out in my rock gig)

GLX=Goldline, BLX=Backline. Low level, entry level gear. I'm not saying they won't do the job. Just suggesting better gear.

Based on my personal experience, 40 years playing bass and having owned or played on most everything that's in this discussion (plus a lot more), I recommend you do yourself a favor and at least check out the GK Neo 12" loaded cabs. For my money DWBass' post above is 100% right on the money.
