I don't know the specs of a Peavey Headliner 115, but you will want to match the impedance of the 115MBE (8 ohms?) and it should handle at least as much power as a 115MBE does.

GK Combo Shootout...MB210 vs. MB212

Technically any 8 ohm cab which can handle 250-300 watts should work fine with the MB210's extension output. If there is a Peavey at a store by you, take your combo over there and plug it in and see for yourself. Wether or not it sounds good is another question that only people who have plugged in that very specific combination can answer.
However, IMO, the BEST cabinet sonically for the MB210 would be the MBE210.
Me personally, I rather pay the extra 50 bucks for the 115 so the extension cabinet matches the combo. Asthetically, it would look better.

The MB210 is a great amp, but on its on, it isn't getting the volume I need to fill out some of the larger venues. I think adding a 15 would solve this, but would really like to hear from those of you who have gigged with this setup before I just order it.

Several of the players here have run the MB210 / 115MBE combination. It may be worth your time to read the long threads on the G-K combos to pick up the individual reviews. The quick answer is that the MB210 / 115MBE sounds great. Still, as has been discussed on numerous occasions here, a 115 extension cab will not truly have better lows than a 210 nor necessarily move more air or produce a higher SPL. It will have a different tone though.

True. You might be better off with a second 210 or even a 410 cab. Both will move more air then a 115.
Depending on the type of music you play, you might be asking a lot from a combo.
For 500+ people venues, you better have PA support and use your on-stage rig for your stage volume.
I dont think a combo and a 115 will fill a 500+ person venue.

That's after I had purchased the 212 and decided to have a try at the 10" version due to its ability to use an extension cabinet. For me it was night and day as far as the quality of output and the volume. The 210 seemed to max out early in terms of putting out a clear but volumnous sound, whereas the 212 was like a Lambourghini: just kind of asking for more and more as you pressed it.
The 212 is ALL I use for my gigs now, which generally involve lounges and outdoor concerts, etc. For larger gigs I run into the PA subs but I'll tell you: that 212 is good enough for most indoor situations, both as a monitor and as a general output amp.

If you've read much of this thread, you'll know I agree 100%!! The moment I plugged into the MB212, it just sounded "right" to me....and it's amazing how loud it will get for a 38# combo! So...as I said in a previous post, my MB212 arrived less than stellar from musicians friend. Honestly, I believe it was more of an MF deal that GK. When the box arrived it looked like it had been opened before..all of the knobs were zeroed, but still, the handle was broken and I had this gut feeling that it had been around the block. Nonetheless, I opened her up and did one practice with her just to see...not good...that thing rattled like marble in a coffee can..my 5 string made it break up something fierce...I called MF and they sent me a return label no questions asked...I'm sure hoping the replacement is a good one..I'm a bit skeptical that this amp can hold up at volume with a 5 string, but from what I've read, others have had good experiences rockin' the low B. I will post a review once the new one arrives..I have a gig on Saturday and I'm hoping she shows up in time..we'll see..my initial impression is kinda mixed, but I'm waiting for a freshy to see what this amp can really do!
My replacement MB212 arrived on Friday...I plugged it in and it sounded so much different than my first one. Obviously, the first one was a lemon or a damaged one sent out by MF. Last night was my first gig with it and I have to say I was pretty impressed. It was solid all the way through and had no problem rockin' the low B! I'm still dialing in my tone with it..part of the time I used the contour, part of the time I didn't...some songs the amp seemed a bit 'bright' with it off, while others it sounded warmer and a bit fuller with it on..all in all..I was pretty impressed. I never turned it up past 5 and I held my own with two loud guitar players and a heavy handed drummer 
...I played both my Schecter Studio Elite 5 (active) and my customized SX SPJ 4 (passive) and both sounded pretty sweet...the SX sounded really sweet..I'm still working on getting the Schecter dialed in tone wise. If this amp holds up, I highly recommend it! Amazing power and tone for the price!

I read a thread on here maybe a week ago that had Mr. Gallien saying something about GK modifying the MB212 to handle an extension cab. I wasn't able to find the thread so does anyone know anything about this?
Yep...The new MB212 is due out in August which will handle the powered extension cab..if you have a current MB212 Mr Gallien has offered to add the balanced XLR output free of charge to handle the new powered cabs..
Nice! Weird that they haven't said a word about it on their website though... At least, no where I could find.
Yeah..there is a thread here on Talkbass about it where Mr. Gallien talks about it..they debuted the new models at NAMM this year..they even have an MB410 coming with 4x10 cabinet..but the deal is if buy a new powered extension cabinet, they will retrofit your current MB212 to handle the cab..

I hear that. Sometimes being off by just a little and you'll never find what your looking for. There are some topics I know I've seen discussed, but for the life of me I can't find them again. Anyway, I'm glad I could be of help.
Someone here on TB, and someone on the MF reviews section, both reported going through 3 different brand new MB212's and each one being defective.
