I play a 1001RBII thru an SWR 6x10 and I can get ANY tone I need. I would spend the extra $200 on the 1001RBII. Compare it to pulling a boat with a Ford Focus or a Ford F350. both will do the job, but the Ford F 350 won't work as hard.. My opinion only.

More like pulling a bass boat (what else?) with either an F250 or an F350. Both have more than enough power/capacity for the job. Which one do you prefer to drive?

Try them all out and choose the one that suits you. I myself like to have the power at hand, if I need a little extra I can also bridge my amp. That's why I went with the 2001 rb 650 watts @ 8 ohms or a massive 1080 @ 4 ohms. I use it through a Neo 410 cab and it sounds awesome.

The 1001rbII is only 700w, There are micro heads with more power now a days

and if i wanted pure clean headroom i would buy one or a 1001,however i love the tone of the 700 that is obtained at a resonable volume for the venues i play and which the 1001 is way to much powerful to push properly for that sound in those venues.

To each his own. Personaly I woulld rather have the extra headroom than not.
