GK MB 200: Part Two

I tried an MB200 hooked up to an Eden 410 cab at a GC in Concord, CA. last week and it was fantastic and deep. It sounded like a BAA (Big A$$ Amp).

The eq was set in the noon position and never needed to touch it. It was tempting to pick one up but I just bought the MarkBass Big Bang so I might get it as a back up later.

MB200 owners. Do you bag your amp? If so, what do you use? Ebay sells a bag for MB amps, but it may be too much for the 200.

I have a small over the shoulder type bag that I have always carried chord sheets, tuners , cables and misc cr@p in anyway, and I just slip the 200 in one of the pockets .. bag is only about 12 x14", maybe 6-8" thick .. thats the beauty of the MB, it doesn't add anything to the existing load .. in fact it often lets me leave something home ...

Thanks! :bassist:
I know GK sells one, but they want a million dollars for it.

No problem. When you get it take a pair of scissors and cut out the fabric in the back of the case so it will fit. Not a big deal:

I use one of these. It's padded and just the right size for an MB200 plus power cord. And, even with amp and cord inside, it still fits into the pocket of a gig bag.

I think Target currently has them only in stores, not online.

I'm currently splitting my signal and running the low end and low-mids through my MBFusion and a Hartke 215XL and my highs and high-mids through the MB200 and a Hartke 210XL, it sounds awesome, I couldn't have imagined how much better it sounds having a split signal with amps and cabs dedicated to different frequency ranges. I thought it would be good but the clarity and punch are phenomenal.

I'm also considering changing the two 10" drivers in the 210XL to the 8ohm Eminence basslite alu cones to make a 4ohm cab and squeeze a bit more power from the MB200.

Is anyone else using their MB200 in a similar way?

I'm also thinking about running my MB200 as a slave off of the MBFusion so I'll be able to benefit from the tube preamp through both amps and cabs. Has anyone elso tried this?

Anyone had any experience running this head with an Eden D210XLT cab?

I believe that is the model. Mine is rated 8ohm and 350watts, newer/older USA build. (1/4 and Speak-on jacks, no banana plugs) Just wondering, mostly, if it would have enough volume with this cab to play live in a loud-ish band with no or little PA support.

Thanks for any input.

I run my MB200 with an Eden 410XLT.

I was very skeptical, but this amp delivered with tons of room to give. I've played it at both a gig and practice. I was so impressed with its size and sound, that I will most likely replace my Eden head with the MB800.

Gives me hope then, lol. I am wanting a back up or possibly a replacement for my Eden WT300 Head on the cheap.

I plan to replace my current rig, I love it. I love the Eden sound, but I'm getting the point to where I HATE moving heavy stuff anymore. Even this 210 cab is getting tiresome @ 63lbs. Plus I own a Toyota Corella that does not afford much space for gear transport, but does way better than my truck ever thought of on gas. Always some kind of compromise, lol.

Here is my review on Amazon.com about it.
