I was looking at a new GK MB112 II & have read where some have had crackling/distortion issues
Look at this post, https://www.talkbass.com/threads/gk-mb112-ii-crackling-distortion.1507507/
There are 4 different people with the same amp and same issue. Should I look for another brand?
Hartke KB12? I don't like Markbass, thoughts?
AI comments state:
Internal problems:
Broken solder joints: Vibration can cause solder joints, especially those for components like power transistors, to crack. These are a common culprit for intermittent issues and may require a skilled technician to repair.
Power supply failure: The power supply can fail, leading to no power at all. The power supply board is a common point of failure.
Other circuit board issues: A short on the circuit board due to debris (like a staple) or a failed component (like a burnt-out resistor) can cause problems.
Ouch!
