GK MB500 replacement knob project

After doing a search, I couldn't find anything on this topic- so here goes:

I love my GK MB500. I love it even more with my Aguilar Tonehammer pedal in front of it. I also love the shape of the knobs on the Tonehammer. The ONLY thing I don't love are the knobs on the MB500.

The pointy-ended knobs on the GK make it hard to make small, quick adjustments on the fly. The Tonehammer pedal, however, has nice rounded knobs that you can adjust with your foot if you have to. I want to replace my GK knobs with TH ones, if possible.

My question is: has anyone pulled off the knobs on either an MB500 or a TH pedal? I assume they're both split-shaft type, not set screw- because there aren't any screws on either type of knob. I plan on getting replacement TH style knobs for the GK, but I want to know if anyone has any insight on how this might work before I dig in and break something. If anyone else is interested, I'll post before and after pics. TIA!

like you, I didn't like them either. I put the knobs off the RB series heads on the MB. GK sells them on there site.

Holy cow, thank you DrDAV! That's exactly what I was looking for. I just put in my order for 9 of them. Don't know why I didn't think to look there first!

I found some other 'soft touch' knobs on a certain nameless site- don't want to put them on blast (but the name rhymes with West Face Ear)- but they wanted $4 EACH for them. Sorry- I'll gladly buy these right from GK for 1/4 the price!

That sounds great. Do you have any pictures of the completed project?

The thing I dislike most about the MB series amps is the "loose" pot feel on the gain knobs. I would have liked to see the limiter implementation done differently (another switch perhaps?) so those pots could maintain the positive resistance feel of the others on the amp.
