GK Neo 412,,,, thoughts, opinions, feedback wanted please

A Mesa 4x12 for $500 is the best price I have ever seen.

Why? I run a 412 with all of my GK heads, and most on them are lower powered. It sounds great and can be very loud.

I know that quite a few folks here don't mind running a large cab with a low-powered amp. I just don't happen to be one of them.

As we all know, headroom isn't just about volume. But I see no need to have that debate here and now, as it's already been done to death. So I am prepared now to let the OP have his thread back.

I paid $700 and for the cab that it is, I feel like I got a steal of a deal on it. A PH412 for $500 is just a ridiculous deal. There was another one being sold locally to me for $1000 even and even that would be worth it considering how much I love this cab.

Yeah, I agree. I wasn't sure if he was referring to the GK 4x12 for $500( a good dea)l, or a Mesa 4x12 for $500 (a steal!!)

Thanks for the info Tunaman. Now I've just got to decide which of the GK Neo's to get. The bad thing is that I had the Neo 212 when I had the 700RB-II but sold the rig together. That was before I acquired the Streamliner or I'm sure I'd still have the cab.

I rented the GK 412 for a few months, and used it for several rehearsals and exactly one gig. I powered it with a GBE 750, and that cab cut like a knife. It was pretty easy to move around, and did I mention how it cut? If you want to be heard, this cab will get you there.

I ended up buying 2 X Mesa PH212 cabs instead (great deal, couldn't pass them up). I prefer the inherently dark sound that Mesa cabs seem to have, but I felt the GK 412 could be pretty versatile. I didn't find it to have a ton of low end, but it worked really well in a mix. I don't think you could go far wrong with it, especially in a loud rock band.
