I could swear I saw a post a while back that stated some pretty significant movement from 12oclock to achieve flatness, but I cant find it anymore. I guess it depends on what cab your using anyway.
The MB500 and 700RB-II settings are nearly the same and not flat to my ears. Hears an a paper from Fdeck that goes over a soncially flat setting for the Back Line 600 which according to Bob Gallien is the same preamp as the rest of the RB series. This was a break thru for me finding how to get the most out of my MB500.

+1, thank you fdeck! I've been using the same settings, my 1001RB II seems clearer and more open. I think he posted "flat" settings for the MB200 as well.
Also, turn all your knobs to one extreme to see how they line up, several of mine were a bit off...
