GK

.. Robert Gallien is a TB member ... he has made himself available on TB Forums for inquiries regarding his products ... that says a lot in my opinion ... I also use products with his name on them

They have been around for a long time and are still selling well. Many players use GK gear if not a majority - Here on TB it may seem like others get more attention but TB harbors all of the small brands that many see as equal or better quality. I like the amps a lot.

I like their heads but dislike their cabinets. They're a good deal if you want quality on a budget, but I personally think there are other brands out there that are a much better fit for me.

It's all about the pairing for me.
GK RB + GK NEO tends to be a bit too hi fi/aggressive sounding, a bit too relaxed in the lows. Not something I was looking for tone wise.
I do dig the GK RB amps with more old school cabs like Ampeg 810. That was pretty badass.

But I LUUrrVVv my GK NEO 412 with an Ashdown ABM head. Wow that thing pairs so nicely. I'd suggest anyone pairing their GK NEO with warmer amps if they find GK + GK combo to be a bit too sterile/hi fi/aggressive/harsh.

I'm a GK guy, because it (the way I have the amp set) gives me that tight response I want. I play with a tight right hand style so I need the articulated response. Plus I get the particular sound of each Bass through the GK amplification.

But, with a few changes to the controls I can get a plethora of other types of amp sounds (grindy Rock, puffy Reggae, round Pop or gooey Gospel)... but tight, quick with excellent pitch definition is why I'm a GK guy. (1001RB II, a pair of NEO 1X15s series 1, I've been using this rig for the last 8 years....)
