GK150 Upgrade?

Hey all,
I've been using a GK150S for the past two or three years primarily on my upright (with a Fishman FC) and have been very pleased. I've just begun playing more and more electric bass with my new Ibanez 6 string, and while I like the sound I'm getting out of the GK, I don't absolutely love it. Space, portability, and price are all issues for me, but I'm thinking of slowly moving to a head/cabinet situation where I can be more flexible with my setup for different uses.

I would love to find a small head and cabinet (moderately priced!) that I could use for both EB and DB and then perhaps eventually move up, piece by piece to something nicer. Is it silly to buy an amp head and run it through the GK speaker until I can scrape up more money for a cabinet? Any thoughts about good candidates? I play mostly traditional jazz, fusion, and some gospel.

Thanks for your help!
