Been messing around with my new 700rb, have a good idea how it works but was curious as to what others find works for them. I'm running an active warwick streamer into it with the dB pad on, see pic for more... I set the volume right before it distorts ,same with the boost and use the woofer as a master. If I need more volume I sneak the volume and boost up together, all run non biamped.

I run it bi amped in my GK NEO 212, woofer at midday, tweeter at 11 or 13, depending of place, boost at 3 and volume adjusted with preamp volume. All Eq at midday excepting treble at half past ten, presence at zero and contour at half past eight.

I hear you on the treble, I can't see myself ever running it above 11. I also cut the bass and mids alittle depending on the room. I imagine if I ever needed more clack I could just roll up the presence knob.

I run a similar EQ on my 1001Rbii. 4 band eq is flat, Contour and presence are both at 0, I completely cut the tweeter off (playing an Ampeg 810 with no tweeter anyways), Boost and woofer are 100%. I play metal, so that tweeter is the first thing to go. Contour, it kind of scoops it so I tend to keep that off so that I don't lose my mids and get lost in the mix with my band. Presence is WAYYY too glassy and full of treble.

Try a couple of different things with the volume. Try turning your volume up really high, and then turn the boost/woofer up.
And then do the opposite, all woofer and boost and adjust the volume with the volume knob. It'll get you high gain at lower volumes, or cleaner tone at higher volumes. Just experiment with it and see what works for you.
I've moved up to a GK MB800 Fusion, but I still run similar settings as to what I was running on my 1001.
