Glock

19. Whatever marginal benefit you get from the extra barrel length of the 17 is limited by the fact that it's a handgun and used in very close distances. I'm assuming this is for carry. If you want to target shoot, 17L is OK, but there are probably other brands to consider that would do as least as well.

I carried a Glock 17 for years at work (before switching over to Sigs). The 17 just felt better/more comfortable in my hand than the 19. But the 19 is easier to conceal. One other advantage of the 19 would normally only apply to law enforcement where several officers/agents might be working together. Let's say you run out of ammo. If you're carrying a Model 19, I could toss you one of my 17 magazines for you to use. However, if I ran out of ammo, I could not use one of your 19 mags. But of course that is totally irrelevant for normal civilian carry. OP, I'd probably go with the 19.
